TRON (TRX) is a blockchain-based cryptocurrency and platform created by Justin Sun. Launched in 2017, TRON aims to build a decentralised content and entertainment ecosystem. TRON uses its native cryptocurrency, TRX, for transactions, smart contracts and governance. Employing a Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism, TRON prioritises scalability and high throughput.
